Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist, Full Time, is an onsite opportunity that ensures clients in our community continue to receive the Mental Health services they want and need.

The Challenge, in a nutshell:

  • Verifying Insurance eligibility and benefits for Clients so they have continuity of care
  • Timely and accurate Accounts Receivable aging follow-up
  • Analyzing and researching account credits and following up with appropriate payor to resolve credit
  • Pre-processing charges daily to prepare for billing
    • Ensuring all services generate an accurate charge from EMR to Revenue Manager System
  • Billing third-party payers via electronic or manual processes
  • Third Party and Client Payment processing and posting
  • Claim Denial Management
    • Phone calls to third-party payors, reprocessing or rebilling claim
  • Patient balance invoicing and follow up
  • Collections processing and follow-up

What you need to be SUCCESSFUL in the CHALLENGE:

  • Passion for patient care and a desire to make positive change in someone’s life
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and ability to learn and efficiently utilize other computer applications including EMR
  • Ability to excel working independently
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with patient and/or third-party collections preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and differentiate numbers
  • Must have Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances
