DBT Skills Group
Psychoeducational Group Focused on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills
What is DBT?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that has been adapted for people who experience emotions intensely. DBT skills are designed to help you stop engaging in impulsive/self-defeating behaviors. Through an initial, individual therapy session, you will discover if DBT is right for you. You will learn about what you can expect in the weekly 60-minute sessions.
What skills are covered?
- Mindfulness
- Emotion Regulation
- Distress Tolerance
- Interpersonal Effectiveness
You will learn and then apply DBT skills each week—at home, work, and in your relationships. This will enable you to build the life that YOU want.
Who is eligible for DBT Group?
Participants must be:
- Age 18 or older
- Free of substance dependence
- Enrolled in individual therapy
How do I know if DBT is for me?
Do you struggle with:
- Intense emotions
- Impulsive behavior
- Relationship stressors
If you answered yes to any of the above, DBT skills can help you develop strategies to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and be effective in your relationships. Your quality of life can increase dramatically. Contact TEAMCare Today to learn more!
