Intensive Behavioral Health Services

TEAMCare provides Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) in the support of children, youth, and young adults.

  • Services are evidence-based practices for the treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.
  • IBHS is provided to clients in their homes, schools, and communities using individualized treatment plans.
  • The goal is to promote consistency, continuity of care, and generalization of targeted skills.

Behavioral Consultant

Behavioral Consultant (BC) services are provided by a professional who offers support and guidance to children and adolescents with behavioral health challenges. They are part of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates with other healthcare providers, educators, and the child’s family to create an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) tailored to the child’s specific needs.

The BC’s role includes conducting assessments, implementing interventions, and monitoring progress to ensure the child’s behavioral needs are effectively addressed and goals are adjusted as needed. The goal of a BC is to transfer skills to both caregivers and the child that enable that child to function successfully in various environments by reducing undesired behaviors.

Mobile Therapist

Mobile Therapy is provided by a Mobile Therapist (MT) and is quite like the work of a BC as far as the use of assessments, development of an ITP, child-specific interventions, and goals designed to meet an individual’s identified needs. Therapy can be provided in the home, school, or other appropriate community environment and is geared towards helping individuals process emotional difficulties, trauma, and other behavioral health problems.

Applied Behavioral Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific method of changing behaviors across settings. This data driven, therapeutic intervention has been very successful with children 21 years of age and younger diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The goal of ABA is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or impede learning. ABA services work to identify the reason target behaviors are occurring (the function of the behavior). Once the function of the behavior has been identified, a three-term contingency model (or ABC model) is used to facilitate behavior change. The ABC model focuses not only on the target behavior itself, but also focuses on the events occurring in the environment prior to a target behavior (antecedent) and immediately following a target behavior (consequences). Using this information, ABA employs a systematic approach of implementing rewards and punishments to modify specific behaviors based on the function of the behavior (Cooper, Heron, & Heward, 2007). Behavioral Analysis is an individualized approach to behavior change that can be implemented in all settings.

School Contracted Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Services

What are School Contracted BCBA Services?

TEAMCare Behavioral Health can provide your district with dedicated, contracted behavior analytic support from a BCBA. Our BCBAs collaborate across settings (home, community, and school) with multidisciplinary treatment/IEP teams. Teams may consist of district administrators, case managers, agency supports, teachers, students, and families. The goal is to increase effective communication and collaboration, reducing the need for mediation and potential costly due process. Through assessment, observation, and training, our BCBAs can assist with or drive the process in creating a plan to facilitate students meeting their educational and behavioral goals both in and out of school.
