Pre-doctoral Internship

Posted:

TEAMCare is a member of the Immaculata Consortium and candidates may apply for internships at TEAMCare through the Consortium’s national match process.

Hours: Pre-doctoral Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week. Primary responsibilities will be to provide outpatient therapy and to complete psychological evaluations. Interns are also expected to conduct intakes for clients requesting psychiatric service. By the end of the first quarter, Interns are expected to be completing 25 clinical hours a week. This recognizes that it can take several months to build a caseload. Interns will complete a minimum of three comprehensive psychological evaluations during the course of the year.

Supervision: Interns will be provided with four hours of clinical supervision a week. At least two of these hours will be provided in face-to-face supervision with a licensed psychologist. Other opportunities for supervision include individual/group supervision with another licensed therapist and/or psychiatrist.

Didactic Training: Interns are expected to attend the eight monthly didactic seminars provided through the Immaculata Consortium. Interns will also engage in independent learning activities decided upon by the supervising psychologist.

Training/Research: Interns will prepare and present up to three, one-hour presentations during the intern year. Presentations may be to TEAMCare staff and/or community-based agencies and schools. Interns may also assist in research programs for the purposes of Program Development or to assess Program Outcomes.
